There are approximately 7,150 languages in the world. More than half of them will be extinct by the turn of the century.

 

The Phoenix Language Project is dedicated to preserving severely and critically endangered languages throughout the world through raising awareness and support for these languages through the spread of books, videos, and texts in each language. With each dying language, we lose a culture and history. We believe that each language is not only an important part of our world's rich culture, but an irreplaceable part.
